Cell Animation is the traditional way of creating an animation.
consists of hundreds of hand drawn images on f transparent cels
and is then painted to create the final video all of these are put
together and run as one so the character moves. These are usually 25
cels/frames per second.
Steamboat Willie - Walt Disney
This film is very notable for being one of the first animations with synchronized
sound and it featured a fully post-production soundtrack.
This was very successful and now many others have used the same
technique.
This reminds me of what i have to do with my brief and with watching how
Walt Disney adds picture to sound you can almost see the separate cells and this
helps with how to create the motion.
In this clip, Tim Allen (Buz light year) talks about how snow white is created
using cel animation and the artistic touch you get only when using this type
of animation.
The first Toy story was also created using this but as they have released Toy story 2 & 3
the animation techniques have become more computerized.
