2D & 3D Clay Animation

Clay Animation involves creating a character out of clay
and moving each of the separate parts in turn and taking
a picture of each stage. because of how this type of animation
is made it is classed as stop motion.

There are two types of clay animation, 2D and 3D
The only difference being that one is a 3D model and the
other is a flat shape that is moved as one.

Wallace and Gromit

This is possibly my favourite type of animation, the way the clay slightly
changes each time creating slightly different facial expressions
and i think that this gives it a more real like form.
This is a very difficult and time consuming way of creating animation but
thats becuase it one of the best ways to create animation.
I would love to use this in my animation but im not sure
i will be able to make it abstract enough.

2D Clay Animation

In this type of animation, the models are created in a 2D form
and then places on a flat surface which usually has the background on it,
and placed so they look like they are standing. This is quite an effective
way of creating animation.

Although i think it will be hard to create and abstract piece with
3D Clay Animation i think that i would be able to do it on here
quite successfully.
